In today's Gazette: Prolific offenders will be followed and filmed 24 hours a day in a bid to reduce the number of burglaries in Colchester.
Essex Police are unapologetic about the in-your-face tactic which has been called Operation Bright Shadow.
* Two cyclists were robbed at knifepoint in copycat attacks in Colchester.
* Proud parents have thanked police officers who helped deliver their baby.
Dad Ramon Hayward flagged down officers to help his partner Chelsea Nolan when it was clear little Annie was on her way.
* Two men have appeared in court accused of trying to shoot dead a doorman in Colchester. Dean Edwards, 38, of Braintree, and Michael Cooper, 40, of Clacton, are accused of opening fire at TP Sports Bar in Queen Street.
