Eyesore squat to be bought for housing

Eyesore squat to be bought for housing Eyesore squat to be bought for housing

A DERELICT eyesore house which has been abandoned by its owner will be bought and put back into use as a home.

Tendring Council will make a compulsory purchase order (CPO) on 11 Berkeley Road, Clacton which has been empty and falling into a state of disrepair for the last 12 years.

The property has become a target for arsonists and it was also used as a squat two years ago. So far it has cost Tendring Council around £15,000 to tackle various problems.

The move to buy the property was agreed by the council’s cabinet on Thursday, September 13. The property will be renovated and repaired.

It will then be made available to a family currently on the housing register.

that scheme had its own manager to see it through completion..
So, how did he do?

Twelve years? I feel so sorry for the neighbours. Can you imagine living next to that, worrying if your house is going to catch fire. Yet, TDC seem to be looking for a pat on the back for bringing the house back to social housing. The amounts of money that has obviously been wasted from emergency services attending this problematic property would undoubtedly have been better spent on TDC's housing stock.

There are all sorts of legal processes the council has to go through to obtain possession of private property including probate in some cases so I doubt if this one is the councils fault this time given the long history of this place.
point takem TW.
so, if TDC are having problems with probate on the empty properties in Clacton alone, then this may help.

"Government, citizens and rights.
What is probate?
'Probate' is a term commonly used when talking about applying for the right to deal with a deceased person's affairs.
It is sometimes called 'administering the estate'.
This page contains information about what to expect if a loved one's estate is in probate.
(if that may be of help.)

we read of problems with the property for over two years,
that alone costing you and me £15.000.

probate results can be secured well within the 2 year timespan quite easily.
