Road layout criticised my MP and councillor

Which way? Councillor Lyn Barton at the new junction Which way? Councillor Lyn Barton at the new junction

ROAD markings outside a new estate have been described as a recipe for disaster.

The layout, near the development of the former Hyderabad barracks, in Mersea Road, Colchester, has been criticised as motorists have to switch lanes after a junction.

Colchester MP Sir Bob Russell , a former chairman of the All-Party Road Safety Group, has witnessed cars using the wrong lane.

Sir Bob said: “The lane switching is confusing.”

Sir Bob and Lib Dem borough and county councillor Lyn Barton are calling on the highways department to review the lane markings.

Mrs Barton said: “The road markings on this junction are totally inappropriate and something needs to be done.”

An Essex County Council spokesperson said an engineer would conduct an inspection this week.

Already seen a couple of near misses but why not have a photo of this ludicrous road layout rather that a councillor?? Going to be fun when the two sets of lights get out of sync.

Lyn Barton is preparing to create chaos in Osborne St with her replacement for the bus station, and that will have repercussions on the whole town centre. So I wonder why she spends her time on this peripheral issue.

Why do women like this always wear cardigans, thinking it is going to hide the fact they are fat lumps.
