AN author and playwright made a double debut in Colchester.

Mumbai-based Farhad Sorabjee saw his play, Hard Places, open at the Mercury Theatre on Thursday , and attended a book launch on Friday at Red Lion Books, in High Street, to mark the launch of his novel, God on Every Wind.

He took part in a book reading and a question and answer session.

“It is wonderful to see what is happening in the arts here in Colchester,” said Mr Sorabjee, a lawyer.

“The facilities are wonderful and it’s easy to see that the arts is thriving around here.

“It is a great town and a great venue for a book launch.”

Entry was free and all visitors received a £1 discount on the book.
