A REUNION for past members of a Brightlingsea football club is being held later this month.
Former players, members and officials at Evening Star FC hope to get together to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the club’s founding.
Founded by regulars of the Evening Star in 1972 the club was a founder member of the Naze friendly football league, before joining the Clacton Sunday league in 1974.
Later on the club changed its name to Colne Star FC and played in the Colchester Sunday league before finally closing down last year.
The reunion is being held at the Brightlingsea Royal British Legion club in Sydney Street on Saturday September 22. Tickets are £2.50 which includes a raffle and food.
