Uni's training for local businesses up for national gong

ESSEX University has been nominated for a top award for a course being rolled out in Colchester this term.
The uni’s Professional Development Studies team has been shortlisted in the Times Higher Education awards in the Outstanding Employer Engagement category.
The team was praised for its working helping develop staff at Essex County Council .
As part of the programme modules for social care and health professionals across the region will be on offer at the Wivenhoe Campus from this autumn.
Janet Phillips, professional development studies manager, said: “Professional Development Studies and our partners are absolutely delighted to receive this recognition and to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award.”
