Aboard the Los Amigos to raise cash for the local British Legion. Pirates and Proud, Jerry Davis of Radio Wivenhoe with Barnacle Bill aka Neil Watson.
RADIO Wivenhoe took to the waves and ran its own pirate show to raise cash for charity.
The internet station webcasted from the boat Los Amigos, moored at Wivenhoe Quay, to raise cash for the Wivenhoe Royal British Legion Club Building Fund.
Former Radio NorthSea International and Radio Luxembourg DJ Mark Wesley helped present the show on Friday evening, along with Radio Wivenhoe’s Jerry Davis and Neil Watson.
Jerry said: “The Quay was heaving with people all night and it was really successful, though we also got bitten to death by mosquitoes.
“We had people wandering around with the mic interviewing people and although we had a lot of playlists planned we had so many requests we didn’t need them.
“It could be a regular feature for us as everyone said how good it was.”
A second show will be broadcast from the boat this Friday (August 24) between 6pm and 10pm.
Listeners can have requests and dedications played in return for a donation to the fund and the first show raised around £120.
