Sluice repairs may cause temporary closure of popular cycle path

REPAIR works to a water sluice may lead to temporary closures of a popular cycle path.
The Wivenhoe Trail, between the Hythe and Wivenhoe, may be closed for short periods while the Environment Agency carries out work to the Salary Brook sluice.
Minor repair works will happen in August and September, with further works later in the year to install a new debris filter.
The work will prevent water being held up and reduce the risk of flooding to homes and local water vole population.
The trail will only be closed for safety reasons while equipment is brought in and for a few minutes at a time.
