European Championships come to Colchester

ALTERNATIVE sports fans can get closer to the action when a international tournament comes to Colchester.
Essex University is hosting the 2012 Disc Golf European Championships beginning on Wednesday for five days.
More than 190 competitors from 15 countries, including Great Britain, will play four rounds of the 18-hole course around the Wivenhoe Campus.
As well as individual titles, a national title is also up for grabs with competitors claiming points for their country based on their performance.
There will also be a doubles competition on the final day.
