Exciting film programme for Wivenhoe cinema group

A CINEMA group is returning after the summer break with a programme of films for all the family.

Moving Image, based at the Phillip Road centre, Wivenhoe, begins the autumn season on Saturday September 8 with comedy-drama Le Havre. Rated PG the French-language film tells the story of a struggling author and shoe-shiner in the French port who helps an immigrant boy escape to England.

Marley will be screened the following Saturday, with the 15-rated biopic charting the life and music of reggae legend Bob Marley. The film includes archive footage of the singer and family members including eldest son Ziggy.

There is fun for all the family on Sunday September 16 with U-rated Pirates from Aardman Animation, featuring stars such as Hugh Grant and Salma Hayek lending their voices to the swashbuckling adventure.

An independent film features the following week with a screening of Moonrise Kingdom on Saturday September 22, with director Wes Anderson telling the story of two young lovers who run away together from their parents and scout master. The film is rated 12A.

Scottish comedy from Ken Loach is showing the following Saturday with 15-rated The Angels’ Share, where a group of four offenders on community service attempt to set their lives straight by becoming whisky experts, with hilarious antics ensuring.

The month ends with a special screening of kids’ classic Bugsy Malone including fancy-dress and special effects on Sunday September 30.
