Braintree district: More sightings of strange lights

Unexplained or logical explanation for mystery lights in Braintree? Unexplained or logical explanation for mystery lights in Braintree?

More people have reported sightings of mysterious lights over Braintree.
Last week, the Times reported how a number of glowing orange lights were seen above Galleys Corner last Saturday night.

Anna Jordan, of Boars Tye Road, Silver End, has seen them on three separate occasions this month, including last Sunday.
Another reader, who did not wish to be identified, said: “They were just bright white lights but they just stood there over Coldnailhurst Avenue."
But readers Malcolm Carr-West and Steve Stares said there may be a logical explanation - Aurora Borealis, or the Northern Lights, or Chinese lanterns.

If it was aliens then they won't be back! One look at Braintree and they will realise its not worth stopping. Next encounter will be Jaywick!

Yup we had 2 orange glowing chinese lanterns blowing in a n,ne direction here in Colchester at the weekend, they were pretty low and flickering so i'm guessing due to the wind direction the ones spotted over Braintree probably came from Chelmsford.
It would be a miracle to see the Aurora Borealis this far south but there have been a few M class flares from the sun recently.
It's always good to look up in the sky though, especially when so many heads are in their mobile phones these days.
