Woman finds intruder in home

A WOMAN was shocked to discover a burglar in her home.

The woman returned to her house in Halstead Road, Lexden Heath, to find a man upstairs.

She was able to push him out the door after he came downstairs when confronted.

The woman had only left the house for a short time when she discovered the intruder at around 3pm on Thursday, July 26.

Nothing appeared to have been taken in the attempted burglary.

The man gained entry through an unlocked door.

He is described as white, 45 to 50 years old, of medium build and about 5ft 9ins tall.

He was wearing dark trousers and a plain short-sleeved dark brown t-shirt.

He had grey/brown wavy, messy hair, which was below his ears in length and brown eyes.

Anyone with information should contact DC Hannah Richardson at the Target Offender Team at Colchester on 101 or via Crimestoppers .

At least she got rid of him, and he took nothing. Shows you can't go out leaving doors unlocked, even for a short time.

Always, always, always close and lock your doors - even if you go out for a short time!
