A man has been charged with four offences after a firearms incident in Halstead.

Police were contacted shortly after 8am on Wednesday, July 25 following reports that a man had received a face injury when an air weapon was fired at him at White Horse Avenue.

A man was later arrested in Braintree and a weapon was recovered.

Henry Gaskin, 29, of Long Green, Cressing, has been charged with possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, assault causing actual bodily harm, dangerous driving and possessing cannabis.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court this morning, Friday July 27.

Jollyfishfrier, just to bring you up to speed, this is related to an incident in Halstead on Wednesday where a Council worker was shot in the face with an air pistol, possibly after a road-rage incident.
If the arrested person was under the influence of cannabis at the time has not been released, so it would be presumptuous to assume it was the main cause of this.

Infact I think you will find that this was a road rage incident as I no.someone that works for the council and it was there may that got shot and it was all because the bloke 'wouldnt get past the bin lorries and cause they wouldn't move the guy shot the council worker and then ran of abandoning his vehicle as he obviously couldn't get past

To Jollyfishfrier - I have heard on the street that it may be "drug-related" as in a user/supplier situation. I have no more details other that that and what is reported in the newspaper, and I don't want to dig deeper.

Jollyfishfrier,fact alcohol is proven to cause more violence than cannabis.why jump on the possession of cannabis issue.a man is shot with what appears to be a real fire arms,that is the story but you have to blame "cannabis".so Jollyfishfrier oh righteous onedo you drink alcohol.
