Shot dead: PC Ian Dibell Shot dead: PC Ian Dibell

Police have confirmed a man shot dead in Clacton was a serving officer with the force.

He has been named locally as PC Ian Dibell.

What an awful thing to happen to Ian, I did know him for a short while, worked with him, my condolences on his sad loss, he doesn't deserve it

We all like to leave our jobs behind at the end of our shift. Ian sadly paid the ultimate price for truly caring about the community beyond the limits of his working day. Condolences to his family, friends & colleagues.

I have had good and bad experiences with essex police whilst assisting, but its times like these which show how hard there job is , a very brave man and my deepest symphonys go out to ian and his family , rip !!!
