Jake Sheaf puts one over the net
SPORTY students at a Colchester college were given a boost when Olympic beach volleyball hopeful Jake Sheaf dropped in.
Jake visited St Benedict’s College as part of the Sky Sports mentor initiative during a sports fair yesterday.
He gave students an insight into the world of an elite athlete and what it takes to succeed at the highest level.
During the day Jake, currently part of Team GB, worked with a variety of students including GCSE and Gifted and Talented students, as well as leading a number of masterclasses.
PE teacher Kaye Mussett said: “It was great to have Jake visit our school. The students really responded well to him and he has inspired them to continue and work hard within school alongside their commitments to sport.”
