New president plans for a good year

A COLCHESTER solicitor has been appointed president of Colchester women’s organisation.
Liz Jones, who specialises in children’s law at Birkett Long, in Crouch Street, plans to use her year in office as head of the Colchester and District Soroptimist Club to help as many women as possible.
Miss Jones, a member of the worldwide women's rights organisation since 1999, said: “Serving the community and giving something back has always been the best part of being a soroptimist for me.”
She has selected the East Anglian Children’s Charity as her charity for the year.
The group meets twice every month at the St Anne’s Oak Tree Centre, in Harwich Road.
