A MAN who allegedly took fake guns into a supermarket car park has been charged by police.
An officer on patrol on the A12 spotted a man driving a silver Vauxhall Astra while carrying what appeared to be a gun.
The car was followed to Sainsbury’s at Tollgate where it stopped.
Officers arrested a man and recovered two BB style guns from a car.
A 22-year-old from Colchester was charged with possession of an imitation firearm in a public place, following the alleged incident just before 8pm yesterday and was bailed to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court next month.
