UPDATE: Man charged after Clacton nightclub stabbing

A MAN has been charged after a stabbing in a Clacton nightclub.

A 50 year-old man from Clacton was assaulted in Wahoo just before 12.30am on Saturday.

He suffered a puncture wound to the back.

Paramedics took him to Colchester General Hospital, but he was in stable condition and left the hospital later that morning after treatment.

The nightclub, on Marine Parade West, was closed by the owners while officers completed their investigations.

Two men from Clacton were arrested shortly after the incident.

Wayne Chapman, 40, of Jackson Road, has now been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

He will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court tomorrow.

The other man was released without charge.
