POLICE are looking for two men who tried to rob a school boy.

The 13-year-old was approached by two black men in Heatley Way, Greenstead, as he walked to school.

He was at the junction with Magnolia Drive when one of the men assaulted him.

The other unsuccessfully tried to grab his school bag during the incident which occurred on Friday, April 27.

Dc Trevor Clark, of the Colchester Target Offender team, said: "I need to hear from anyone who was in the area at that time. It is a busy time of the morning and I believe a woman may have spoken to the young boy after the incident and I would urge her and any other witnesses to contact us."

The attackers are described as both between 18 and 20 years old, with London accents.

One was of black African origin with very dark black skin, flat nose and of broad build, about 5 ft 7 ins tall.

He had dark, black hair in dreadlocks, a piercing in his left ear and a tattoo on his right side of the neck.

He was wearing a grey Nike hooded top and tracksuit bottoms and white Nike trainers.

The other was mixed race, 5 ft 9 ins tall, and had a skinny build.

He had dark hair in an Afro style, was wearing a black Adidas tracksuit top and bottoms with a white strip down the side and white and blue Fila trainers.
