A chimney fire broke out this morning at a house which is under renovation in White Notley.
One crew from Braintree initially attended the incident, which was reported shortly at about 9.45am, but upon arrival the commander requested a second crew of firefighters.
Firefighters reported that the fire was in a chimney breast in a first floor hall of the two-storey building in Church Hill, White Notley.
Crews used a thermal image camera to locate the fire and and cutting gear to reach it.
The incident was dealt with and the fire was fully extinguished shortly before noon.
