Colchester United loanee Gavin Massey has been recalled by parent club Watford.
The 19-year-old had been set to complete his one-month loan at the U's by playing for them against former side Yeovil Town on Saturday.
Colchester manager John Ward had been hopeful of extending Massey's loan period at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
But the Hornets have injuries problems and have recalled Massey to their squad.
