PATIENTS who do not need to spend the night at north Essex’s hospitals are largely happy with their treatment, a survey has found.
The Care Quality Commission survey asked outpatients to rate the care they had received at Colchester GEneral, Essex County and Clacton, Halstead and Harwich community hospitals out of 10.
The organisation which runs the hospitals - Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust, scored 9.3 for treating patients with respect and dignity, and 8.7 overall.
Patients also awarded high marks for the cleanliness of the hospital departments, while few saw their appointments changed to a later date.
The main gripe of patients was that many had too long for their appointments to start.

Patients that have only to go to out patients say that C.G,H. is good and give it the thumbs up.
But if you are un-lucky enough to have to stay in a night or two. Then pray that you don't have to stay on the Wivenhoe ward.
My wife was there last week with gallstones. Now we all know, that if you have them. You should not have any dairy products.
My wife could not eat, drink or take any oral medication. when she did try too, she was throwing up real bad.
Only thing that was helping her with the pain was intravenous morphine.
This was given to her at night by the doctor. But there was a S.N. that thought that she was above the all doctors. She came on duty the next day and tore the drip out my wife's arm and of the lady that was in the bed opposite. Cause the nurse did not want them to have it.
My wife was left last Wednesday 10 hours in a lot of pain. When I went up to the nurses station and put my foot down. The same nurse said that she had oral pain medication four hours before. But if one was to throw it all up within minutes of getting it. Then you don't have any in your system.
I can go on with all the things that they did wrong and out of line there on that ward. How on two counts they almost got my wife into a body bag.
But on a high note, I want to praise the Mersea ward. they got her on the Thursday and had her in the O.R. the next morning. Their words were. "They got her on the table on time".
There was so much infection in her body. There was no way she would of made the six to eight weeks or more, before they would of had a slot to operate.
I know that there can be them that have good experience's in our hospitals. But if you are not in the bracket of what nurses would call normal, then your in for a bumpy and scarey ride. Cause all they want to do, is get you out of that bed as fast as possible so that they have an empty bed.
