Last time I helped out I didn't even get a hot cup of tea let alone a thankyou letter.

The Kids are on half term (or should I say 'children', for the politically correct!). Col U could offer free tickets to a match later in the season for all those who help out....Not likely to happen though....prove me wrong Col U.

Alternatively get the entire squad on the pitch snow clearing, its good exercise....Not likely to happen though....prove me wrong Col U.

So will the Col Utd players be helping too? As lets face it, they have been out of work for two or so weeks.

Well, I was there, and unlike Feisty's experience last time, we got a trolley with tea, coffee, soft drinks and sandwiches.
Mostly it was boys and girls about 12 to 15 on half term, plus a few parents and old codgers like me. John Ward and Joe Dunne were there working as hard as anyone, as was Dave the head groundsman. No sign of any players, but there were a couple of senior club officials in suits keeping themselves clean.
No we shan't get free tickets but they took a group photo of us, took our names, and someone said these would be read out before the kick-off, assuming the match goes ahead. It should do, we got just about every flake of snow off the pitch, it was turning to slush by the time we finished. The surface will be pretty waterlogged, but if it's a dry day it should be playable by the evening.
