A PROJECT which has helped thousands of Colchester homes is celebrating its tenth year.
Colchester Council’s warm homes energy project has helped 6,600 homes by offering advice on saving energy, reducing fuel bills and keeping warm in winter.
In the last year the scheme has helped to insulate 200 lofts, fill 300 cavity walls and repair or replac 80 heating systems.
Tina Dopson, councillor responsible for Communities and Diversity said: “The Warm Homes Project delivers some invaluable support to residents living in Colchester.
“In the ten years that the project has been running it has helped more than 6,600 households become more energy aware and highlights the need for us all to take positive action to reduce, reuse and recycle”.
