TEEN horseriders who only recently formed as a team have won a county-wide competition.
The Hedingham School equestrian team competed at the NSEA Interschool’s national championship showjumping qualifier, at Norton Heath Equestrian Centre.
Brooke Bekir qualified for the one-metre individual class and the team came away with the Essex County Open Showjumping Champion Trophy.
They are also being held in reserve for the 90cm and 1m team classes.
Joining Bekir were Alice Wotton, Anna Cooper and Chloe Howe.
The school formed the equestrian team to promote horse riding, improve the youngsters’ riding skills and encourage team work between the pupils, who would normally compete as individuals.
They are sponsored by Catley Cross Equine.
