Matt Holland starts for the Republic of Ireland B team against the League of Ireland in Bray tonight.

The Ipswich Town midfielder, who lives in Colchester, wears the green of his adopted country for the first time and he can't wait.

He said: "I'm really looking forward to it, it is a big thrill to get an international chance though I know there is still some way to go to get in the full Ireland team."

Holland won selection after impressing Mick McCarthy with a long run of consistent good performances since joining Ipswich from Bournemouth.

He joins an list of international which now include two in the full England squad.

Richard Wright and Kieron Dyer are not expected to get a game against the World Champions at Wembley tomorrow.

David Seaman is fit and will start while Nigel Martyn holds on to the number two spot.

Dyer has an outside chance of at least getting on as a sub after injury wrecked Howard Wilkinson's plans.

He stayed with the squad originally picked by Glenn Hoddle but has called in Arsenal defender Lee Dixon after Paul Merson and Gareth Southgate pulled out through injury.
