Drivers across Tendring fell victim to the icy conditions today.
Thorpe traffic police were called after an accident on the B1035 at Bradfield where a driver lost control of his car on the ice and hit a a road sign. He was unhurt.
On the B1029, a woman driver escaped injury after her car skidded off the road and hit a tree.
Accidents were reported on the B1033 between Weeley and Thorpe and on the B1027 at Wivenhoe.
A spokesman for Thorpe traffic police said: "All the accidents were down to the icy conditions."
An Essex Police spokeswoman said Tendring seemed to be the only area affected by the snow and ice and a number of minor accidents had been reported in the district.
