Dragon's keeper Darryl Trigg has joined Nationwide Division Three club Brighton on a week's trial.
The 22-year-old former Colchester United youth team keeper is hoping for a permanant move back into professional football.
Trigg goes into the reserve team to play Millwall tomorrow and if a deal goes ahead Wivenhoe will expect a four figure fee.
Jeff Wood, the Brighton boss, has close links with Wivenhoe through former team-mate Phil Coleman and chairman Dave Whymark.
Wivenhoe co-manager Steve Pitt said: "Darryl was unfortunate to be released by Colchester. I am sure he will do well and can make it at Brighton."
