Witham turned in a good all-round performance against the team fifth in the league to keep alive their slender hopes of avoiding relegation.
Witham had chances as early as the sixth minute when Glen Driver and Chris Bassett were put through but on both occasions goalkeeper Lee Carroll foiled them.
Nick Ashton tested Carroll with a close range shot and Tony English headed over with the ball just bouncing off the top of the bar.
And at the other end Marlow also had their chances in what was an evenly matched half.
Witham started the second half well and took the lead on the hour mark when Driver turned both his markers to shoot past Carroll.
The half becmae a real battle with at one end Witham being caught offside many times and at the other end battling hard to defend their slender lead.
This they did well, although Chris Kreihn in the visitors' goal was called upon to make a number of brave saves.
And in the last minute Witham got their reward when Bassett was put through on goal and he shot past Carroll to secure the win.
Witham are now unbeaten in four matches although they remain in 21st place in Ryman League division two.
