Brightlingsea secured a well-earned point at North Road as they held visiting Haverhill to a goal-less draw.

The home side currently third from bottom of the Jewson League's division two need every point they can grab to keep them away from the relegation zone.

They have five points on bottom team Thetford Town and four on Norwich United. Saturday's draw puts them on 15 points along with Chatteris Town with Haverhill directly above them on 33.

In an even match both sides looked to create chances but with the first half remaining goal-less it needed something dramatic to break the deadlock after the interval.

But it was not to be as again neither side could find the back of the net.

But at this point in the season every point has to be gratefully accepted.
