Kind-hearted youngsters brushed up their decorating skills when they helped paint over graffiti sprayed on a newly-refurbished toilet block.
Members of the Canvey Youth Centre based at Furtherwick Park School gave up their Saturday to help re-paint the outside of the block on Eastern Esplanade.
The youngsters joined volunteers from Canvey 2000 - a scheme committed to restoring the seafront.
The group, which spent about £7,000 over the last year to repair and decorate the dilapidated toilet block, were shocked to find graffiti had been sprayed over the outside walls.
Chairman Dennis Williams, said: "I was totally delighted when the youngsters volunteered to help. Vandalism is usually associated with young people but it just goes to show they are not all bad."
