PUPILS put on a musical extravaganza at Colchester’s Charter Hall.
Youngsters from the Gilberd School, Philip Morant School, Colchester County High School for Girls, Colchester Royal Grammar School, Colchester Sixth Form College, the Colne Community School and Manningtree High School, made up the 120-strong orchestra and more than 300 singers for the annual prom.
They were joined by pupils from schools in Colchester’s twin town of Wetzlar in Germany.
Nigel Hildreth, president of Colchester Colne Round Table, which organised the event, led the concert.
He said: “The prom has grown and grown since it started, 11 years ago. The standard was so high, it raised the roof.”
