POLICE have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the indecent assault on a woman.

The woman, 21 and from Colchester, got off a train from London Liverpool Street at Colchester North station and was approached by a man.

She recognised him as the person who had been harassing her on the train.

The man then pushed his victim up against a wall in the underpass and put his arm around her neck in an attempt to kiss her.

A man heard the commotion and forced the attacker to release her, but he groped the woman as she ran away.

The attacker is Asian, about 5ft 11ins tall and of medium build. He was clean shaven, with curly hair, styled with gel.

Det Con Alan Reed, from the British Transport Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this offence and have isolated a CCTV still of a man we would like to speak with in connection with what happened.

“I would encourage anyone who recognises the man to contact us and help with our inquiries.”
