Man charged with rape following attack on teenager

A 35-YEAR-OLD man from Jaywick has been charged with the abduction and rape of a 17-year-old girl in Clacton.

Daniel Bramman, of Broadway, was arrested on Wednesday in relation to the rape of a girl on March 1.

It is alleged that the girl was bundled into the boot of a car in Rush Green Road, Clacton, and taken to a boat or storage yard, where she went through a three-hour attack before being released on Pump Hill, St Osyth.

Brammam has been charged with one count of kidnap with intent to commit a sexual offence, rape, false imprisonment, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He has been remanded in police custody to appear before magistrates in Chelmsford tomorrow.

A woman who was also arrested has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
