DETECTIVES investigating the rape of a teenager have been given extra time to question two suspects.

Police gained a warrant to continue questioning a man and a woman arrested on Wednesday afternoon over the attack.

They can now continue to quiz the pair until 8pm today.

Normally, suspects may only be held for 12 hours, after which they must be either charged or released.

The pair were both arrested in relation to the rape of a teenage girl on March 1.

She was bundled into the boot of a car in Rush Green Road, Clacton, and taken to a boat or storage yard, where she went through a terrifying three-hour attack before being released on Pump Hill, St Osyth.
