A NEW sports centre which will bring a taste of the 2012 Olympic Games to Colchester will be opened on Tuesday March 23 by a mystery athlete.

A giant multi-sport outdoor gym venue is being built by adidas off School Road, Monkwick.

The ‘adiZone’ will provide facilties for basketball, football and tennis, as well as a climbing wall, an outdoor gym and an open area to encourage dance, aerobics and gymnastics.

The adiZone will be officially opened by figure from the world of athletics, although the identity of the sports star won’t be revealed until nearer the time.
