Mercury Theatre boss says Woodward will be missed

MERCURY Theatre boss Dee Evans has paid tribute to actor Edward Woodward, right, who died yesterday.

Woodward, famous for his roles in movie the Wicker Man, and as Callan and the Equalizer on TV, was 79. Woodward and actress wife, Michele Dotrice, visited the Colchester’s theatre last year to see daughter, Emily Woodward, in a Greek epic.

Ms Evans said: “Edward Woodward made an enormous contribution to British theatre with many great performances. He will be sadly missed.”
