A TEENAGE motorist is due to appear in court after a road crash that killed an aspiring firefighter.
The 18-year-old, from Colchester, will appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court, on November 19 after being charged with causing death by careless driving while uninsured and unlicensed.
The court appearance follows a fatal road crash in Abberton Road, Langenhoe on May 18 this year.
Gary Pitchford, 17 from Speedwell Road, Colchester was a passenger in a Peugeot 106 that left the road and crashed into a tree.
He died in Addenbrookes's Hospital two days later.
Gary was halfway through his first year as a student at Colchester Institute and had ambitions of being a firefighter after he finished.
