Staff take a stand against hunting

STAFF at a Colchester cosmetics shop were getting in a lather over the Hunting Act, which they say is not being enforced.

Lush Cosmetics, in Sir Isaac’s Walk, has been holding a week-long campaign to highlight the plight of foxes, which it claims are still being hunted, despite the introduction of a ban in 2004.

Customers were invited to sign postcards addressed to the chief constable of Essex Police asking him to make the enforcement of the Hunting Act a priority.

Lush shop assistants wore homemade fox ears and tails and talked to customers about fox hunting, along with members of the campaign group, Hunt Saboteurs Association.

Sophia Lepage, from the store, said: “Fox hunting still goes on because the law is not being enforced.

“We want to highlight this fact and help support the work of the Hunt Saboteurs Association.”

The shop also launched a new bubble bar for the bath, called Fabulous Mrs Fox, and all the money from the sale of the product will go towards the cause.

More left wing rubbish from the anti-hunting mob.

I thought that Colchester Borough Council had banned politics from the streets of Colchester so why was this allowed to go ahead?

I also wonder why these people never campaign against drug dealers or supper groups like Anti-Drug Dealers Association?

They only ban politics from the streets when it's a party or policy they don't agree with, or feel threatened by.

If they were doing this inside their shop then it is their business and nobody should try to ban what they are doing.
Having said that, foxes are vermin, the town is infested with them, as is the countryside, so something has to be done to try and keep their numbers down.
As for cosmetics named "Fabulous Mrs Fox", I don't think it would be very nice to be near anyone who smelled of vixen.
Luish Cosmetics were involved last year in an excellent campaign against a second runway at Stansted Airport. They should get back to that, which would be a much better use of their time.
And if any of them are free on Saturday, they should join the demonstration in London to bring the troops home from Afghanistan. 12 noon at Speakers Corner in Hyde Park, to march to Trafalgar Square.
