Bikers ride out for Air Ambulance

11:00am Monday 6th July 2009

THE countdown is on for the 10th anniversary Essex Air Ambulance motorcycle run.

The event’s official launched at the helicopter’s base, on Boreham airfield, near Chelmsford, was attended by members of the Essex Wings group, which ran the first motorbike run in 2000.

This year’s Dunton to Harwich ride is on Sunday, September 13. Gates open at Ford’s Dunton site, just off the A127 near Basildon at 8.30am.

Bikers will ride a police-approved route along the A127, A130, A12 and A120, ending at the Harwich Family Festival, an event offering family entertainment for all.

Attractions will include motorcycle displays, stands by the Essex Goldwings and Harwich Motorcycle Club, live music, children’s entertainment and refreshments.

Bikers are being encouraged to sign up for the ride in advance this year, with entries going into a prize draw to win a BMW F650 GS bike, worth £6,000, donated by Cannon Motorcycles, of Braintree.
