A BELATED birthday celebration led to an Essex model being picked to feature in a Playboy calendar.

Former Colchester Institute student Victoria Moore turned 21 in February, and jetted off to Las Vegas in April to celebrate the milestone.

While there, she visited the Playboy Club and was chosen by an executive from the company to take part in a competition to appear in the 2010 Playboy calendar.

She said she could not believe it when she won the £1,000 prize and the title of Miss April in the calendar.

The picture looks set to lead to more stardom for the former beauty therapy student, who was at Colchester Institute from 2004 to 2006.

She is set to be the face of Imperial Vodka in the US and hopes to be picked by Playboy owner Hugh Hefner to feature on the front cover and centrefold of the famous magazine.

She is also going out to stay at the legendary lothario’s Playboy mansion next month.

Miss Moore, who grew up on Witham’s Humber Road estate, said: “It was my first time in Las Vegas. I got there on the Wednesday and was in the club on the Sunday night.

“I was going home on the following Wednesday, so after I was spotted I had a photo shoot the day before I left. I always thought I was unlucky because I never seem to win anything.

“I was really shocked by it all and it took time to settle in.

“Americans seem to really like the English, they just love the accent.”

Miss Moore was a make-up artist, who attended John Bramston School in Witham.

While on a work trip to London she was spotted by someone from an agency and asked to consider modelling.

She is now a full-time model in the UK, mainly for catalogues, but has also done work for lads magazines.

She is awaiting a visa so she can move to America to further her modelling career.
