Orphaned badgers on the road to recovery

4:50pm Wednesday 1st April 2009

TWO orphaned badger cubs are recovering at a wildlife rescue centre.

The five-week-old cubs were found cold, hungry and dehydrated in a garden in Rowhedge.

The pair, who have been named Bertie and Barnaby, have been taken in by Wildlives Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre, in Thorrington.

Centre owner Rosie Catford said: “They were so hungry that when they were shown food, they fought with each other for it.”

It is hoped the pair can be taken to the RSPCA centre in East Winch, Norfolk, until they can be released.
