A MAN has been left bruised and shocked after being mugged in Colchester in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The 18-year-old from Colchester was walking down Circular Road East at around 12.10am when he was approached by three men in their late teens.
Police say one of them asked where he had been and when he replied he was punched in the face and fell to the ground.
The teens continued to attack him on the ground, before taking his black leather wallet and a black Nokia mobile phone and running off.
The victim, who does not wish to be named, was left badly shaken up with bruising and swelling to his face and upper body.
The attackers are described as white, with two wearing black hoodies and the other wearing a grey hoodie.
DC Dave Glasgow, of Colchester CID, said he wanted to speak to several witnesses.
"Our victim heard someone shout 'oi' while he was being robbed," he said.
"I appeal for this person to get in touch.
"There were also two men walking ahead of the victim who were also approached by these teenagers and I need to speak to them as well.
"Also, I would appeal to anyone else who has got any information to contact me as soon as possible."
Anyone with information should contact DC Glasgow on 0300 3334444.
