Colchester: Man mugged by three teens

A MAN has been left bruised and shocked after being mugged in Colchester in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The 18-year-old from Colchester was walking down Circular Road East at around 12.10am when he was approached by three men in their late teens.

Police say one of them asked where he had been and when he replied he was punched in the face and fell to the ground.

The teens continued to attack him on the ground, before taking his black leather wallet and a black Nokia mobile phone and running off.

The victim, who does not wish to be named, was left badly shaken up with bruising and swelling to his face and upper body.

The attackers are described as white, with two wearing black hoodies and the other wearing a grey hoodie.

DC Dave Glasgow, of Colchester CID, said he wanted to speak to several witnesses.

"Our victim heard someone shout 'oi' while he was being robbed," he said.

"I appeal for this person to get in touch.

"There were also two men walking ahead of the victim who were also approached by these teenagers and I need to speak to them as well.

"Also, I would appeal to anyone else who has got any information to contact me as soon as possible."

Anyone with information should contact DC Glasgow on 0300 3334444.

The local do gooders and top cops will say what a safe town it is and crime is downwhat crap, in the real world until people are locked up instead of asbos which mean nothing this will happen again and again.Bring back the slipper at school and the public hanging and then see the crime fall.

Having had experience in the last few weeks with police activities it seems most victims have an on going and up hill struggle when it comes to crimes committed against them.
We can no longer make a citizens arrest or even touch these offenders without suffering further consequences by law.
I pity the guy that was mugged and hope that the culprits are taken down before they can strike again.
Once again it involves so called hoodies.
People, ''stay away from youngsters wearing hoods, cross the road anything, let them all know how suspicious they look.''
If they don't want you to see their faces something is wrong - WARNING!
Let them all know they are not to be trusted and we will not tolerate them; only then can we start to progress.
You can tell me it's only fashion so why why why are most crimes i read about committed by people wearing hoods?
This victim will surely be affected in many ways due to the nature of events.
It is a very serious crime and should be treated as so.
I have absolutely no faith in our police anymore because they rely on inadequate CCTV, are undermanned and are limited by politically correct rules.

What has our country come to when we can not go out for a night out or a day shopping with-out being attacked. In broad daylight or dark. The police try and catch these monsters. And when thay do and it goes to Court They are given a fine or a smack on the hand. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. We should take up the American way lock them up and make sure they do hard labour. Let's stop **** footing around and bring these thugs to justic. And dish out a true sentace.Let #Britian not take crime lightly let's see true punishment
