A Territorial Army officer is set to walk 100 miles in five days to raise money in memory of “ten courageous individuals”.
Iain Greenwood is doing a solo walk on Dartmoor to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and 1 Royal Anglian Afghanistan Memorial Fund.
Mr Greenwood, a captain in 3 Royal Anglians, will be walking in memory of his 14-year-old niece Maggie Vale, who died in October from cancer, and the nine men from the Royal Anglians killed in Afghanistan in 2007.
The 43-year-old, from Thorpe-le-Soken, will be carrying all the kit and supplies he needs for the trek, which begins tomorrow.
