HOMEBUYERS can buy one house – and get another free.

An estate agents in Clacton is offering the two-for-one deal on a pair of neighbouring properties.

It is thought to be the first deal of its kind in the country.

Scott Sheen, director of Sheen’s in Old Road, Clacton, said: “People might expect to get two-for-one offers at the supermarket or on double glazing, but not houses.

“We’ve certainly never offered anything like this before – you don’t get many opportunities like this.

“We came up with the idea and suggested it to the owner who basically said ‘you’re fine, you do the marketing, you’re the experts’."

The chalets in Sea Way, Jaywick, are on the market for a total of £89,995.

The main one has a lounge/diner, kitchen, two bedrooms and a shower room.

It comes with the second property – including a kitchen, lounge, bedroom and outside toilet – thrown in for free.

There is another way of looking at this.

The average price of properties in Jaywick at the peak of the housing market was coming in at abit under £57,000.

With prices as they are today and with the lack of easily available mortgages on this type of property you would be looking at someting more likely worth about £45,000 so in effect you are paying the market price for what you get, £90,000 for two properties.

Some would argue that maybe the value is today closer to £40,000 so maybe you are overpaying but what you do have here is a possible double plot and with that comes the option to redevelop the site.

Probably not alot in it for a developer but certainly if you want to live here and have got your eye on the long term with regards to Jaywick's redevelopment you might be able to do something with this.

If i can spell ecconomics.
Ok, how much is the rate for DHSS per month paying.
plus top ups...
sell your big old hard to keep heated and cleaned house,
buy 2 in Jaywick village,
live in one, rent the other out for
£600 per month,
all the excess from you old dear to run house gets put in Government stocks & Bonds (slow returns but) you wont lose them in icelandic type ruinous banks.
Just take it easy, next to the sea
(we are getting £millions spent on our beach now)
and watch £600 per month go into your bank account.
You get so much more time to your self rather than cleaning up big old houses too...
wish i could spell how to get rich quick, or buy 500 of them.....

Boris my friend, its hard to explain just how much of a burden a massive house in a "nice area" was costing me to run and never actually own for years was, until i sold it.
I down sized so much that when i moved into my present home, i said, just what have i done, but that was still the shell shocked ivan after not only moving from the madness of "east london" but still felt lost by not working.
this phenominon is usual among most retiree`s at first, as you look at the clock for time to go to work, then realise you dont have to anymore.....
after 5 or 6 years,
you are so happy......
yes boris,
i feel like a millionaire, but without the need for the money...
PS, just like twizzles legs and arms, my home grew bigger....
and i love it....
so do my neighbours in there own homes...lol
