A celebrity psychic has offered his support to help Colchester United overturn a poor run of results at their new ground.

After five League One games at the Weston Homes Community Stadium the U’s have lost three times and drawn twice, scoring two goals and conceding seven.

Dean Maynard, who claims his psychic support has inspired Real Madrid to win the Spanish league, saved rugby league team Wigan Warriors from relegation and helped Leona Lewis win X-Factor, has pledged to “have Colchester in my thoughts” for the home games against Millwall on Tuesday and Carlisle the following Saturday.

“These are two difficult games, which will be a real test for the team and what I say I can do,” he said.

The club were unavailable for comment.

With the papers leaning towards the other team in "SUFFOLK" this is most probably poking fun at Colchester utd!

Knowing Marie I cannot see her being happy with this "NEWS"

Its the name...

Hull City play at the "Kingston Community Stadium" known as the KC Stadium.
You play at "Weston homes Community Stadium" that makes your home the....
W.C. Stadium.
That also describes the football that you have been playing, so the spirits tell me.

What a load of poppycock.

If he really thinks he has some sort of influence, can he not do something about the credit crunch and save us from a recession and worse?

No it would make it the W.H.C Stadium a good attempt at trolling but try harder next time.

What a ridiculous 'news' story! I assume this 'celebrity' psychic (who no one appears to have heard of) merely issued a pree release in an attempt to get some publicity and the lazy Gazette writer just wrote it up as a 'news' story!

As for the poll..... well... can I suggest one?

The Gazette is no longer a 'news' paper

Yes...
No...
It never has been...

What happened to my comment? cant stand any criticism? it was utter drivel for a front page and you know it. As a daily reader of the gazette i dont expect world exclusive news stories just something better than this drivel on the front page.

Must agree. I love the Gazette and this web site. To have this story on the front page shows disregard for real news. Having said that psychics are nothing more than charlatans preying on the weak for their own means.

It's a shame he wasn't around a year or so ago, then he could have forewarned the council the value of the Layer Road ground was going to fall significantly and the taxpayer wouldn't have to foot the bill for the £1 million or so lost.

He could also have forewarned to them that the Icelandic banks they had £4 million stashed in were going to go bust.

Why don't they just say to the players " no win, no pay" then watch the goals fly in? if most people don't perform in their jobs, they don't get paid for much longer.

You have got to be having a laugh here, right? What a load of sh1te. Can't you bunch of lazy overpaid hacks find a real news story to report. If you want to print a witty little tale of mystery at least find an interesting one. Is the WHCS cursed? Yes by the likes of you pathetic Morons hanging around waiting to write BS like this. FFS grow up.

The latest poll vote shows 37% of people think Cuckoo Farm Stadium is cursed whereas 90% 0f cats prefer Whiskers but no cat has ever come out and said they do!

Most probably both sets of statistics are totaly inaccurate.

The Col U figures have most probably been distorted by Geraint Williams and his back room boys who all got the chop.....Now we all saw that one coming long before Robbie Cowling did! Does that make us all psychics?

From someone who has more than a fair share of "knockers"
i fell about laughing at this story.
Its ironic that my beloved and "little boy" will appear on christmas Tv in a well known psychic show....anyway,
"as for a cursed stadium thats a load of **** as well" i found even funnier, as i believe the grounds were once part of a mental institution, or am i mad...lol

Perhaps this psychic could ask the naughty spirits to go and play elsewhere, they may play better than CU....lol

Its a funny old world, eh feisty...lol

Just a thought about low attendences,
why not let the banger racing brigade use the stadium,
it would bring back the community back into community stadium,
they racers would really tear it up on the track.

(sorry, could`nt resist it)

(ok, i know its wrong, but a reporter somewhere will complain)..
lol.....

If it is cursed then that's probably been done by the travelers who again seem to be able to park as near the ground as they wish!
I think I'll take my caravan up there next Tuesday! Nice and handy for the evening game.
