A man has been banned from every pub and club in Clacton after he admitted lashing out at a man who had chased him.

Brian Boxall was barred from all pubs and clubs in the town for three months after he admitted using threatening, abusive words and behaviour towards Danny Webb.

Colchester Magistrates' Court heard the 20-year-old, of no fixed address, had been walking from the beach with a group of friends just before midnight on August 29.

As he walked past The Geisha Hotel, in Marine Parade East, Clacton, a group of men began to chase him.

The court heard that Boxall said he was hit in the thigh by Danny Webb while he was on the ground.

Mr Webb was detained for assault but Boxall then tried to retaliate and stamp on him. He was restrained and stopped from doing so.

Louise Reader, mitigating, said: “He is a vulnerable young man who had been bullied in prison and in the community.

She said: “Mr Webb in his interview admitted they left the pub to chase after Brian so clearly he was provoked to a greater extent.”

Mr Webb was cautioned as he had no criminal record.

However the court heard Boxall had a history of previous convictions.

District judge David Cooper ordered him to stay out of all pubs and clubs in the town until January 2.
