THE manager of a brothel is to be investigated to see if he made any money from the business.

Aleksander Sochacki admitted running the brothel in Colchester earlier this year, and was given a 120-hour unpaid work order.

He returned to Chelmsford Crown Court yesterday for another hearing to see if he has any assets gained during the time he managed the business.

If the court decides he gained financially during the time he ran the brothel, these assets may be seized under confiscation and proceeds of crime laws.

Sochacki was caught running the brothel in Firstore Drive, Lexden, Colchester, after neighbours saw men repeatedly visiting the property.

Sochacki, 36, from Nelson Road, Dovercourt, denied at first he was running a brothel and claimed he owned an agency offering help to people arriving in the UK.

Apart from the work order, Sochacki was given a two-month jail term, suspended for 12 months, when he was sentenced in February.

His partner, Magdalena Chamera, 22, was also arrested at the address and charged with managing a brothel.

The prosecution dropped the charge later and she agreed to a 12-month bind over.
