LOOK out Simon Cowell – Colchester children could be the next X-Factor stars.
Youngsters at the Kiddi Caru Day Nursery, Hythe Quay, took part in their own singing competition to entertain staff and parents.
Manager Claire Cutts said: “The children started singing one afternoon, and one member of staff said they should be on the X-Factor.
“So we decided to have a little competition – the kids made their own microphones and the staff pulled up their trousers like Simon Cowell to be judges.
“The children all stood on a red X on the floor and sing us their song.”
She said the songs ranged from Bob the Builder and Baa Baa Black Sheep to three-year-old Gracie Allen singing dance track Now You’re Gone, by Basshunter.
“We were totally surprised by her choice but we think it’s because she has an older brother,” she said.
“Even her mum was puzzled about how she knew it.”
